Why is ActRx so important?

A child dies every 30 seconds from Malaria. Estimates now suggest that more than 500 million people worldwide have the disease, making it the number one killer in the world today. Morbidity reports indicate that most of the Malaria-diagnosed deaths occur with pregnant women and children. While the disease has reportedly been eradicated in the U.S., it continues to proliferate in tropical environments throughout the world, most prominently in Africa, Asia, Central and South America.

 Company Background and History

In early 2006, a seasoned American consumer products developer began a mission to seek out what might be considered the top natural cures and least invasive medical technologies available worldwide. This product researcher set out to compile and publish a White Paper in order to advise people about these unique findings and remedies. He quickly found that Malaria appeared overwhelmingly widespread throughout the human landscape, fatal in many cases and seemed only to have very weak treatments that worked sporadically at best in countries around the world. Yet, there are areas, such as the United States, that have enjoyed the virtual disappearance of this parasite-based, mosquito carried disease. 

The global investigation led to Hong Kong, China, where an unlikely, yet proven, natural treatment for Malaria was uncovered. The research found that an extract of the Chinese Artemisia Annua plant has been used by the Chinese to treat fever for more than 2,000 years. They began clinical tests on the plant during the active antibiotic era of the 1940s.

After years of development and enhancement by the Chinese, Artemisinin was officially declared a treatment for Malaria in China in the late 1960s. It was further used during the Vietnam War to treat communist-backed Viet Cong soldiers in the war with the U.S. The strategic importance of the cure in that environment of conflict, partially explains the delayed knowledge of the treatment and its availability globally.

The evidence was so compelling, that it was decided to forge ahead and bring this desperately needed Treatment to the global markets…where millions of lives might be spared from this deadly disease. After extensive study of all available medical research, as well as meeting with international experts in pharmaceuticals and botanicals, such as Holly Pharma of Beijing, a great deal of supporting case information and clinical evidence emerged showing that the compound’s historical performance was clearly a winning solution in the fight against Malaria.

The recent 2007 mandate from the World Health Organization (‘WHO’), such that, in short, two compounds must be used in the treatment of Malaria, not just one alone, due to potential future resistance to ongoing use of single medical treatments. This requirement created the need for an effective ACT or Artemisinin Combination Therapy. After extensive research, another prime, plant-based compound was found to be the ideal complimentary compound to build a highly effective 2-part ACT to treat Malaria rapidly, while free of many of the dangers of synthetic and man-made formulas.

The ACT is meant to replace previous quinine-based and other damaging and ineffective solutions in the battle against increasingly resistant strains of the Malaria parasite. An effective ACT is the only remedy that answers the WHO’s demand for complete elimination of the parasite in less than three days. ActRxMalaria Treatments are easy to use, made from natural botanicals and fully compliant formulas. Additionally, ACT achieves this result without any observable side effects and low or no short or long term toxicity.

The well known and widely used highly pure form derivative of Artemisinin, made from the Artemisia Annua plant, is a compound currently known as Artesunate. Artesunate has become a proven standard in the treatment of Malaria in many areas of the world. However, in the quest to find an effective ACT, in accord with the demands and concerns of the WHO, a second, complimentary compound had to be found.

After much research and testing with botanical experts, a second compound is known as Berberine Alkaloid, made from the Barbary Root was found to be an outstanding compliment that yielded excellent results time and again. Berberine, another 2,000+ year old Chinese remedy in many forms, has also been proven over the centuries as an effective medical treatment for numerous serious ailments and diseases. This new combination or ACT was a life-saving, medical breakthrough!

Upon discovering that, based on a vast amount of human trials and case studies, this new ACT stood out as a Malaria treatment that far exceeded the effectiveness of all other available treatments, the combination formula was patented, and ActRx Limited was formed in Hong Kong, China in 2007. The Company, over the past 4 years, has proceeded to partner with experts in product design and marketing, funding and global distribution. ActRx Limited, after numerous test cases through doctors and hospitals in highly infected areas such as the Philippians, has prepared for mass manufacturing of certified products and global distribution in concert with national distributors, governments and NGOs. ActRx...A Product Line Designed To Save Lives

The ActRx Treatment is currently available in a 2 form factors:  [Artesunate + Berberine]

             (1)   ActRx Personal Malaria Treatment Pack– a 4-day dose of GMP packaged tablets taken orally as directed, based on age and weight;

and

(2)   ActRx Professional Malaria Treatment Pack– a single Injection vial of Artesunate [as Artemether], and a 4-day dose of tablets taken orally, as directed. This Pack is offered for Doctors and Hospitals where an Injection can be administered safely to the patient at the onset of Treatment, followed by the tablets taken orally as directed, based on age and weight.

The Treatment results can be rapid, and may take effect within the first few hours after starting Treatment. ActRx may reduce the harsh symptoms of high fever and extreme flu-like manifestations. It has been found to quickly eliminate and clear the Malaria parasite from the bloodstream, as well as the remainder of the system. Comatose patients and children, especially those at immediate mortal risk, should receive the Injectable Treatment, followed by the tablets (ground into powder form as necessary and used as directed) for maximum effectiveness.

Disease Prevention

Ending the transmission and spread of Malaria and other similar diseases (such as Dengue Fever) is a long-term goal of ActRx Limited. The Company is continuously developing easily appliable, natural-based solutions for people worldwide. An important first step to disease prevention, is to learn the basics of mosquito-based transmission of Malaria and other diseases or similar infections. Here are some very basic facts on the similarities and differences between Malaria and Dengue Fever transmission:

Malaria: Transmitted by mosquito bite from the common Anopheles mosquito which bites at night time and breeds in wetlands, rivers, lakes and marshes. It is not born with the disease…it has to get infected first by biting an already infected human or animal. It does not transmit the disease to its eggs.

Dengue Fever: Transmitted by the mosquito bite from Aedes Aegypti mosquito which is a smart bug that is capable of living in your home for up to 4 months and bites during the day or when the lights are on at night. It bites you from behind generally on the ankle or neck area. It lives in clean or stagnant water put in pet dishes or lying around the home inside or outside for plants. It passes the virus to the eggs. Mosquito (Insect) Nets are very helpful, and must be used carefully and consistantly, since quantities of mosquito’s can be so great in certain global regions.
